Alvin and The Chipmunks

Watch this movie and you will have Alvin's singing voice in your head for weeks. "I told the witch doctor..."

This was one movie that it was cute the first time, very good for children, but I won't choose to watch it again unless my 2 year old is sitting there with me and wants to watch it. It was pretty cute, but if I see talking animals I don't think that I would make a rock band out of them, I would probably check myself into the insane asylum. I do feel that Jason Lee character is a bit too mellow, which is how I feel in all his stuff I have seen except for My Name Is Earl. But that is probably how they felt that Dave would really be like in real life, so really he is perfect in their eyes.

I do like how the chipmunks are more of Dave's children and sees a need to treat them like children instead of forcing them to make him millions.

So I am torn on this movie. I have to say...Great for children and adults to watch together, but too childish for a grown-up to watch alone.

StarDust

I have to admit I didn't really give this movie high hopes before I watched it because most of the magical stories told through the movies don't turn out the way one would hope, with the exception of a few good ones out there.
This story was a twist on Princess Bride, with more of a violent take. It was a romantic tale of course, but the gory twists must have been more for the guy side of the story. I think it had everything for everyone. All and all I would say it was a pretty good movie except for some bloody parts that I admit I cringed at. There is a lot of death, witches, and magic in this tale so if you are against that then stay away, but if you want something different to watch without the predictibility of the movie then I would recommend StarDust.

Elf: The New Christmas Story?

I know this is an old movie, but since it is the holiday season I thought it would be fun to write about it. Personally "Elf" to me is such a family friendly movie and great to watch every Christmas season. I wasn't too fond of "The Christmas Story" but I know lots of other people do like it and watch the marathon. So "Elf" has now been up there in getting replayed over and over again and I welcome it, kudos to the TV stations!!

"Smiling is my favorite" and "The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear" are the two quotes out there that lots of people are going to get! Yes "You'll shoot your eye out" is still known for us, but for the younger generations who may not know it, will be quoting "Elf" for the next 20 years.

2 Thumbs way up from me and the rest of my family!
