It has to tell you something if we go to the opening weekend of Horton and through out the movie I hardly heard a peep out of the kids who sorely outnumbered the adults in the theater. Well I should take that back, I heard laughter, but no toddler/child talking or running around because they were bored. Even my 1 year old was interested in the Elephant and the Who people. The three older kids we were with (including mine) were glued to the big screen and only moving when they needed to hand me their empty popcorn cups.
It was a cute little kids movie, not something my husband and I would go on a date to, unless you are a kid at heart and have no kids to use as an excuse to go...

Horton Hears A Who!

I Am Legend
At the beginning of this movie I was wondering what was going on. It really didn't explain anything. All I knew was that Will Smith's character was one of the last survivors in New York and possibly the world. They cure cancer (in the beginning I am not ruining the story!) with a virus and it turns the victims into blood thirsty zombies! Yikes! How would you like to have no one to talk to for the past three years while you are trying to find a cure for the people who are trying to feed off of you.
So once I got through some of the movie I found myself grabbing on to my husband saying, What are they going to do! Seriously he might be Will Smith, but can he really get out of every sticky situation? It was a good movie, short, but then again it reminded me of Cast Away with one Character most of time...what can you do when it is one person talking to himself and to his dog? It was a Zombie action packed film!

Martian Child
All I have to say about this movie is that it is nothing but praises. If you want a cute family friendly movie you really should see Martian Child. Maybe it is because I have two boys and I know how imaginative little boys are, but I really thought it was cute. Just the story between trying to become a new single dad by choice and the hardships, laughter and joy made this movie relate-able (is that a word?) for anyone no matter your age. I really do recommend this movie and hope you think it is as cute as I thought!

Modern Day Snow White?
Sydney White and the seven dwarfs...yeah apparently that is what this movie was suppose to be about. I suppose it was ok for an afternoon of nothing to do since the kids were sleeping, but it wouldn't be a choice for a great movie to watch. It was ok, but I don't remember college having so much drama like high school does. Of course I never tried to be in a sorority so maybe they are all cliqish and self absorbed. Maybe we all are dorks in someway...
